For the first time in the Republic of Tajikistan, the West Asian Chess Championship for cadets and juniors was held in 2025

This significant event not only gathered over 400 participants from 14 countries in the region, who demonstrated their skills and strategic thinking on the chessboard, but also made history as the first tournament of this level held in Tajikistan. The championship marked a crucial milestone in the development of chess both in the republic and across the region, affirming the country's growing significance on the chess map of Asia.


The general sponsor of the championship was the «KOINOTI NAV» Group of Companies, which actively supports the development of young talents in chess.


Tajik chess players showed outstanding results at the Championship, winning 3 silver medals in individual classification. Payrav Qodiri - among boys under 14 in Rapid. Jaloliddin Ilkhomi - among boys under 18 in blitz and standard. Jaloliddin Ilkhomi also fulfilled the standard of an International Master.

In the additional team classification, Tajik chess players won several medals. In standard: boys under 14 and girls under 18 - bronze; boys under 18 - silver.

In Rapid: boys under 14 and boys under 18 - bronze.

In blitz: boys under 8, under 14, and boys under 18 - bronze.


The championship became not only an arena for competition, but also a platform for friendship and exchange of experience between young chess players.
