MEDSI Group, Russia’s largest federal network of private clinics, has entered the healthcare market of Tajikistan with the opening of its first international medical center. The new multidisciplinary clinic is located at 79 Shirinshoh Shotemur Street in Dushanbe.
The medical center covers more than 2,500 sq. m and operates as a full-cycle clinic, designed to serve up to 600 patients per day — over 216,000 patients annually. The center brings together five key departments: therapy, pediatrics, surgery, dentistry, and diagnostics. In total, the clinic provides care across 35 medical specialties and welcomes both adults and children.
More than 50 doctors work at the center, including MEDSI experts from Russia and Tajik specialists with international experience. The clinic is equipped with 23 consultation rooms, two operating rooms, a 24/7 surgical inpatient unit, and an intensive care unit.
The new medical center is set to become an important driver for healthcare development in the region. It provides access to advanced medical care of international standards and helps reduce the need for patients to travel abroad for treatment. The clinic also addresses several high-demand medical areas in the region, including allergy and immunology, endoscopy, coloproctology, traumatology and orthopedics, rheumatology, nephrology, efferent therapy, and pediatric dentistry.
The clinic is equipped with modern medical technology, including a digital dermatoscope based on biophotonics, the GENORAY mammography system, the SonoScape HD-550 video endoscopy system, the Dixion ST-E600 ENT workstation, and the AP-01 membrane plasmapheresis device. This allows doctors to perform highly accurate diagnostics and minimally invasive procedures.
“The opening of the clinic in Dushanbe is a milestone that confirms our readiness for global leadership. We are not simply entering a new country — we are bringing advanced technologies and our unique culture of patient care. Tajikistan became the starting point of our international journey because we see strong demand for high-quality medical services here, as well as trust in Russian healthcare standards. This strategic step is of great importance both for strengthening the MEDSI brand and for the development of Russian private medicine as a whole. We see it as the beginning of further international expansion. We believe there is significant potential ahead and will continue opening new horizons, sharing our expertise, and helping shape new healthcare standards internationally,” said Andrey Gennadievich Sokolov, President of MEDSI Group.
The clinic follows unified MEDSI clinical protocols and strict quality control standards. Patients can also be routed across the wider MEDSI network through telemedicine consultations with Russian experts, remote medical boards, and referrals to specialized MEDSI centers as part of medical tourism programs with full patient support.
The clinic’s team applies modern clinical protocols and evidence-based treatment methods. MEDSI’s competency-based approach combines years of clinical experience, proprietary medical practices, advanced scientific achievements, innovative technologies, and high-performance medical equipment.
The project was developed in line with the concept of an accessible environment. The clinic includes ramps, automatic doors, elevators, handrails, and adapted restrooms for patients with limited mobility and parents with children. Trained staff are available to provide support and assistance.
The opening of the clinic also has strong social value. It will become a platform for the professional development of local medical specialists, help reduce outbound medical travel, and strengthen public trust in the private healthcare sector in Tajikistan.
“We are pleased to launch the first MEDSI center in Tajikistan and see this as an important step toward supporting people’s health and wellbeing. Our goal is to create not just a clinic, but a space where top specialists, modern equipment, and high-quality service come together so that every patient feels confident and supported. We believe this project will become an example of how private medicine can serve as a strong driver for regional healthcare development,” said Muhammad Khurshedovich Mirzoev, Director of MEDSI Tajikistan.
The clinic operates in the upper mid-market segment. Patients can pay in cash or by bank transfer. Voluntary health insurance programs are expected to be introduced in the near future. The clinic is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
